Comet is Perplexity’s Chromium-based AI browser. It launched for Windows and macOS on 9 July 2025 and became free for everyone in October 2025, with Android following in November 2025 and iOS in March 2026. The Comet Assistant sidebar answers questions about the page you are on, summarizes articles and tabs, and carries out multi-step tasks such as research, shopping comparisons, scheduling and drafting emails, while workspaces keep tabs and projects organized and most Chrome extensions install directly. The browser itself is free; Perplexity Pro ($20/month) and Max ($200/month) raise AI usage limits, and Comet Plus ($5/month) adds premium publisher content.
