OpenClaw
Open-source personal AI assistant that runs on your own machine and meets you in your chats
OpenClaw is a free, open-source personal AI assistant (MIT license) that runs on your own computer or server. A Gateway process connects it to the chat apps you already use — WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, Slack, Signal, iMessage, Teams and more — so you can ask it to do things from your phone: run scheduled tasks, work with files, automate the browser, and extend itself with community skills from ClawHub. It has no model of its own: bring a Claude, OpenAI, Gemini or DeepSeek API key, sign in with a ChatGPT subscription, or run local models via Ollama. The software has no paid tier, hosted service or token, so your only costs are model usage and the machine it runs on. Native apps for macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android pair with your Gateway as nodes; the phone apps are companions, not standalone agents. Previously called Clawdbot, then briefly Moltbot, it settled on the name OpenClaw in January 2026 and is stewarded by the independent OpenClaw Foundation.
