2026-10-31 New Features: Public API, Open-Source Filters, and a Friendlier Site

Today brings a public API with a developer guide, open-source badges and filters, smarter search and 404 pages, one-click Markdown copying, a card that clears up easily confused products, a region-availability badge, and draft autosave for the submission form.

Today's update makes the site easier to browse, share, and build on. Here is what is new.

## A homepage organised by category
The homepage now shows a section for every category, each with four featured tools, alongside the scenario guide, popular categories, hottest tools, and latest tools. You can scan a whole field at a glance instead of opening one category at a time.

## A public API and a developer guide
Developers can now read the catalogue through a public, read-only API: list tools, fetch a single tool, and list categories, with language and paging options. The new Developers page explains every endpoint with copy-ready examples, so you can build your own lists and tools on top of the catalogue.

## Open-source badges and filters
Tool pages now carry an Open source or Commercial badge, so you can tell at a glance how a tool is licensed. The tool list gains an open-source-only filter, and the alternatives section on a tool page gains an open-source-only switch, so you can narrow alternatives to open options in one click.

## Search that jumps straight to a category
When your search matches a category name, the results page now puts a direct link to that category at the top, with its tool count. If you already know the field you want, one click takes you there.

## 404 pages that help you recover
A mistyped address no longer leaves you stranded: the 404 page now offers quick links to all products and all categories, and its search box is prefilled with the words from the address you typed, so you can correct course immediately.

## Copy a tool card or comparison as Markdown
Tool pages and comparison pages now offer a copy-as-Markdown button. You can paste a tidy tool summary, or a full comparison table, straight into notes, documents, or chat without retyping anything.

## A card for easily confused products
Some names are easy to mix up, so product pages now show an "Easily confused with" card when a lookalike exists. It points you to the other product and its description, so you can be sure you picked the right one.

## A badge for region-limited tools
Tools that are only available in some regions now carry a clear badge on their cards and detail pages. You will know before you click through that availability may depend on where you are.

## Draft autosave for the submission form
If you are suggesting a tool, the submission form now saves your draft as you type. Close the page by accident and your text is still there when you come back, and it clears itself once your suggestion is sent.
